| Funding Alert: $150,000 Available for Family Literacy Projects Ready, Set, Read Grants provide small sums of money for projects that promote childrens reading and language development. Grants may be used to purchase books for distribution, develop kindergarten transition materials, create or expand book lending libraries, or conduct family literacy events (e.g., family story times). All projects must benefit children prenatal to age five and their families. Projects should encourage parent-child interaction. Eligibility: Non-profit organizations, individual library branches, public or non-profit child care centers, and adult education programs that incorporate reading with children birth to five are eligible to apply for funds up to $3,000. Licensed family child care providers are eligible to apply for funds up to $1,500.
